You then need to choose the types of food to prepare. Food is a necessary part of the event as people want to enjoy some delicious bites as they watch football. Decide on the items you want to make and serve based on the size.  Find a balance between healthier options and pleasure foods. Another thing a lot of people forget is drinks.  Make sure that you have a variety for your guests to choose from. Find a way to keep them chilled throughout the day.

A tailgate is characterized by people wandering around and interacting while eating and having drinks. Nonetheless, there’s a time when people want to come together. The right seating now becomes essential.  When choosing a tailgate space, choose a comfortable and foldable seating. This will want your crew to stay for as long as they can.

Do not forget to create a visually appealing setup.  The right decorations can bring all the elements together. It’s also a great time to have fun and let your creativity run. You can choose a theme based on the season, team colors, or other things.

Although creating the perfect tailgating dish may seem daunting, sometimes success is achieved through the simplest things.  Popcorns are an awesome tailgating snack.

Game Day Popcorn Recipe

Game Day Popcorn Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Several cups of popped corn
  • Three tablespoons of salted butter
  • Brown pretzels
  • Football candy corn
  • Three cups mini marshmallows

Directions:

In a large bowl, put the popcorn and season with enough salt. Ensure that you remove all the un-popped kernels. The salt gives the popcorn a tangy taste once the marshmallow mixture is added.

Melt the butter in a medium pan. After it’s melted, add the marshmallows and stir. Wait for the marshmallows to melt. Turn off the heat after the marshmallows have melted.  Your taste should dictate the amount of marshmallow mixture you want to add.

Pour three-quarter of the mixture over the popcorn. Add a bit at a time as the more the mixture, the stickier the popcorn will be.  Use a spoon to fold the popcorn and taste before you add. You can then stir until everything is covered in the mixture.  Put the marshmallow popcorn in a cookie sheet covered with a slipat liner or foil.

Trickle the remaining marshmallow mixture onto the popcorn.  Remember not to mix it up as you need the candy to stick to the popcorn.

The marshmallow mixture should be sticky and warm.  Don’t wait for long to add in the candy. Garnish your popcorn with sprinkles and candy, concentrating on parts that have the most marshmallow mixture. Allow it to cool and serve.

However, after preparing popcorn, you’ll need a place to serve them. Popcorn bags are easy to make and your guests will appreciate the effort you made.

Materials Needed:

  • Scissors
  • Brown paper bags
  • Small pins
  • Printables
  • Tissue paper
  • Hot glue gun
  • Paper straws

Directions:

Cut the brown paper bag to about four inches high.  Place the tissue paper inside once you’ve opened it up. Use the scissors to cut out the printables. Clip the printable to the bag.

Sometimes you want to make the paper straw field goal. All you need is to cut the paper straws into thirds. Have another straw in half. Glue the thirds together and then place the half straw to the end. The straws add a fancy touch to the popcorn bags.

Take the cut brown bag and lay it flat. Use a white market or craft paint to add football threading.  Make punches at the top of the bag and put in a ribbon to close.  You now have a popcorn snack bag.

After you’ve made your popcorn bags, you need to set up a popcorn station.  This is easy to setup as what you need are the bags laid out at a corner table or stand.  Have a large bowl of popcorn with a scoop. Alternatively, you can pre-pour the popcorn to save time. You can add some parmesan cheese, colored sprinkles, or nutritional yeast.

These additions are guaranteed to please your sweet and salt lovers. Your guests can now enjoy this yummy tailgate snack.

Hosting a tailgate party requires adequate planning and a budget.  You can choose to bring the fun to the grounds or invite friends and family at home. The above tips will help you create a successful event that will be memorable for days to come.
