Many people are still new to RumChata drink. It’s a relatively recent liqueur, just released in 2009. This creamy liqueur is inspired by horchata, a drink popular in Spain and Mexico. Horchata dates back all the way to ancient Egypt, where it was made of ground chufa nut with water, cinnamon, and sugar. In Mexico, horchata is made with rice instead of chufa nut. Horchata has the appearance of milk but actually does not contain dairy.

RumChata drink, however, is a combination of dairy cream, Caribbean rum and flavored with cinnamon, vanilla, and other flavors not to be disclosed. The rum is smooth and sweet with the creamy flavors.

When you think of drinking at tailgates, it’s usually beer or a simple soda cocktail. RumChata probably doesn’t come to mind. But it should! RumChata is super versatile. You’d be surprised by how many great drinks you can make with RumChata. Hot or cold, fruity or creamy, the possibilities are endless. Who knows, the guys may even skip a beer.

It may help to know that the homogenized cream does not need to be refrigerated, so it’s more portable than you might think!
